With a flourish, the Norwegian kicked off his first domestic campaign in England.

Erling Haaland scored twice in Manchester City's 2-0 win over West Ham on Sunday, giving his Premier League debut the best possible start. He released any tension that had been building against him after failing to fill in for a sitter in the Community Shield last weekend.

The 22-year-old took just 36 minutes to make his Manchester City debut, converting a penalty after being brought down in the box by West Ham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola.

Haaland increased his total just after the hour mark by calmly putting a superb Kevin De Bruyne through pass into the same corner. However, Pep Guardiola prevented him from scoring a hat-trick by replacing the Norwegian with 12 minutes remaining in regulation.
