Timo Werner, a striker for Chelsea, will return to RB Leipzig on a long-term basis.

In 2020, Werner transferred from the Bundesliga team to Chelsea for a fee of £45 million.

The international player from Germany will now rejoin the team where he made his debut.

Fabrizio Romano, a football transfer analyst, reaffirmed this on Sunday.

"Leipzig are set to sign Timo Werner from Chelsea, here we go," Romano tweeted.

"I've been promised it will be a long-term agreement, NOT a loan. Chelsea will lose Werner.
